Explore more than 60 stalls of Artist’s Books, with over 80 artists taking part. Browse the innovative and unique works on show; talk to the artists – all of whom will be in attendance; sign up for one of the free talks or workshops on the day; buy some early Christmas presents from the fantastic range of works on offer to suit all pockets, including beautiful limited editions. All events are free. The Fair promises to be a veritable feast for the eyes!

This inaugural event promises to be one of the largest showcases of artists’ books ever seen in Sheffield, with over 80 artists and makers from across the UK taking part alongside artists from Ireland, Holland and Egypt. It is being held across two superb new spaces in Sheffield city centre, Kollider and Kommune, located at Castle House, in the historic heart of the city. Kommune hosts a large food court with café and bar, enabling us to showcase this unique and seldom exhibited artistic practice in a busy public space rather than within the confines of an art gallery.

The event is a successor to the The Sheffield International Artist’s Book Prize formerly hosted by Bank Street Arts. The internationally known prize, last held in 2015, established a focus for artists’ books in the city and at the same time left a legacy of over 800 artists’ books donated by entrants to the Prize. These make up a unique collection and resource, and now form the core of a fledgling organisation – The Sheffield Artist’s Book Centre, which is hosting these events in conjunction with Off The Shelf Festival.
